SOCCER MOM!

Well it is official.  Amanda is a soccer mom who drives a mini van.  Avery just started soccer these last couple of weeks with another little boy in the neighborhood.  They really have no clue about how to play the game, but its still fun.  Avery had his first game last week.  It was quite entertaining, even though we don't know what the score was.  Avery was very obedient at first and didn't move from the position his coach put him in- literally.  He finally figured out he couldn't actually move around.  He also had fun just wrestling around with his friend on the ground while the other players got the ball.   What a silly and fun kid.  It doesn't really matter though, he had fun and we have fun watching him.

Fairmont 2013

Well it was that time of year again- to make our long trek up to Montana to spend Labor Day weekend at Fairmont Hot Springs.  We sure love it up there.  We didn't get too many pictures because were too busy having fun!
We went swimming (ofcourse) and  this was Mason's 2nd time swimming.  He fell asleep in the pool and so we put him in his carseat on the deck of pool.  He almost took a 5 hour nap he was so relaxed from the warm water.  The rest of us went down the hydrotube slide a bunch of times.  Lily loved it and that is all she wanted to do.  Avery was excited that he could go down it all by himself (he is getting so brave).  Avery also loved diving for things in the shallow water that is just the right height for him.
We also went looking for golf balls, our yearly tradition.  We hit the jackpot in part of the dried up pond.  The kids refer to it as being like an "Easter Egg Hunt."  We have so many golf balls we don't know what to do with them!
We were able to go over to Twin Bridges where Brian's mom's family is all from.  We went to church there and had dinner afterwards with Brian's Aunts, Uncles, & cousins.  It was so much fun to spend time with them!  Avery got to sit on a horse on the way out and can't wait to really ride it the next time we go up there.
We also played some games and just had a great time relaxing and enjoying everyone's company.  Brian did some golfing and mountain bike riding (just a short run).  It was so pretty up there and the weather was so perfect (not too cold and not too hot)!

An "Official" Idahoan

Well it took moving to Utah to experience the life a of Idahoan.  While on our way to Fairmont for  Labor Day, we stopped in Blackfoot.  We went to visit Taunya who is working potato harvest driving truck.  Avery, Lily & Amanda all got to ride with her in the truck while they loaded it with potatoes from the field.  It was a first for all of them (Brian also rode a little bit, but its not new to him since he used to do the same thing).  It was really fun to see how potatoes are harvested.  Lily was a bit nervous in the big bumpy truck, but Avery really liked it.  They were quite excited with the red potatoes they got to take from the field.  We also got to see a little bit of them unloaded the potato truck and picking out the dirt clods.
When we pulled up to the potato cellar, Brian mentioned how he loved that dirt smell- and how much it brought back great memories for him growing up in Idaho.  We are so glad that we took the time to show our kids something from their daddy's childhood.
We sure do love Idaho!
