Happy 5th Birthday!

We have a 5 year-old in the house!  Avery turned five this last October.  It is so crazy how big he has gotten!  He will be going to Kindergarten next year!

His birthday is the same day as his grandpa's birthday, so all the Downs family got together the night before to have some fun at Chuckie Cheese.  Amanda made a fun little cake for Grandpa, Avery and his cousin Kyler (who had his birthday earlier in the week).  Grandpa sure loves to fish, so they got a fishing cake.  The people are actually edible- marshmallow fondant, and they turned out pretty good.   

Aunt Chelsea gave Avery the Back to the Future Time Machine Delorian.  Avery absolutely loves that movi

The next day was Avery's real birthday, so he got to open his gifts from us.l  He got a really cool remote control monster truck and some Legos.  We mostly just hung around all day and that night, Avery and Brian got to go on a scout camp out, which Avery really liked.  They even sang Happy Birthday to him!

On Sunday, Aunt Candace game over to help plan our Florida Trip and so we Avery's cake that day.  He is really into Star Wars lately too so its a Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker cake.

Here are some little tidbits of info about Avery:

-His favorite movie is Back to the Future (all 3 of them)

-In talking about our upcoming trip to Florida, we were talking about Disneyworld and how there would be movie characters there.  The first thing he asked was, "Will Doc & Marty be there?"

-He also loves Star Wars.  He has watched them all and knows the story line quite well.  He really likes Anakin before Anakin turns into Darth Vader.

-His favorite color is "all the colors" but blue is probably his most favorite

-Just learned how to cross the monkey bars at the park all by himself

-His favorite food is Chicken Alfredo and rice.  He asks for it all the time.

-loves riding his bicycle, dirtbike (electric) and scooter everywhere.

-likes to teach the Family Home Evening lesson or "Blesson" as he calls it

-Is a very loveable kid.  He makes friends really well.

-LIkes to save some of his candy he gets so he can share it with his family

-has the most contagious laugh

-loves, loves, LOVES camping.  The kid would live in a tent all year long if he was allowed to.

-also loves skiing.  A couple of weeks ago, it snowed in the mountain and he was all ready to go skiing that day.
