Decorating the Christmas Tree 2014

Here is our tradition of decorating the Christmas Tree as a family.  We always have to do it the second week in December because it seems that Brian is always gone with a work trip during that week.  We like to go up in the mountains to Amanda's parents and get the tree first.  Those pictures are probably on Brian's phone...
Well we put the family decorated tree downstairs and get to decorate it any way we want!  The kids love putting the ornaments on and even Mason tried to do it.  The one thing about real trees from a real forest is that the branches aren't the greatest at holding up heavy ornaments, so mom and dad had to reposition some of them.  Mason also came to LOVE the glass ornaments...maybe that's why Amanda found bunch of used ones at a thrift store...Mason thought it was fun to pull them off and throw them across the room.  Needless to say there were a few broken ornaments and most of the ones not broken ended up really high on the Christmas tree.  Oh well, that's how a Christmas tree looks with a toddler in the house!

dong a great job!

so magical!

Every year we have bubbly (sparkling apple cider) in fancy glasses as Brian gives a toast as he put the star on top of the tree.  Well this year we discovered that the star, which normally lights up, wasn't working...So we fiddled with it for a while- a LONG while and Lily ended up falling asleep (why does it take us like 2 hours to decorate a little tree?)  Oh well, we still had fun.  The star never worked, so we just did one that didn't light up.

Here we all our with our Christmas tree!  (Lily is quite asleep on Amanda's shoulder).  We are all ready for Christmas!
