Ok, so none of us ran the marathon or half... but we did go up to see if we could see Brian's cousin Ryan come in from actually running the WHOLE marathon, and hopefully qualify for the Boston Marathon (you have to have some crazy fast time to do it). He ran it the year before (both times stayed at our house) and just barely missed qualifying- by like 5 minutes or something!
It was a very cold and wet day! We thought we had plenty of time to get there...but...the road was backed up way in advance and by the time we got into town...we had missed him. oh well!
But they also do this free fun run for the kids around the park where all the festivities are. The kids get a free t-shirt and some swag to do it even! Our kids did it the previous year and even though it was rainy and cold they did it again this year. Our friends the Bairs were there cheering on a family member so their kids ran with our kids. How cute is the oldest daughter running with Lily (she was so nice to do so).
After looking forever Brian did manage to find his cousin Ryan and talk to him for a minute- and he did qualify! It was pretty awesome, especially since it was freezing!
Maybe we will have to make this a tradition...since we did to it two years in a row!
